Bias Pads (Airway)
Bias pads: The industrial terminology for buffs constructed of material cut into bias strips. These strips are then wound and gathered into a steel clinch ring thus producing the pleated appearance. The pleated construction has several key advantages. The pleats not only trap air and thus runs cooler than full disc pads but also minimize the buffing lines full disk pads produce. Allows a larger contact patch which eliminates the uneven luster associated with full disk spiral stitched pads. Best for all thin metal such as trim. Center plates easily changed to 1/2" thru 1 1/4" hole diameter. 5/8" hole diameter standard on 8" and 10" pads. 6" airways use 1/2" hole.
